Why Professional Furniture Movers & Heavy Lifting Matters?
Protect your back, your floors, and your investment
Heavy items are awkward, top-heavy, and often exceed safe lifting limits for one or two people. Moving heavy furniture upstairs or moving any heavy item with Improper technique leads to strains, pinched fingers, and dropped loads that damage floors, walls, and furniture finishes. Professional affordable furniture movers and heavy lifting bring team coordination, the right tools, and proven methods to move weight safely without risking your health or your home.
Hermits Moving and Handyman Services plans each move path, manages weight distribution, and stabilizes the center of gravity with straps and dollies. We pad and wrap pieces, shield door jambs and corners, and use floor protection to prevent scuffs, dents, and scratches while keeping the process controlled and predictable.
From oversized couches to commercial-grade equipment
We handle bulky sectionals, sleeper sofas, recliners, solid-wood buffets, china cabinets, armoires, large dressers, dining tables with glass or stone tops, king bed frames, Murphy beds, gun safes, lateral filing cabinets, conference tables, bookcases, and large appliances like refrigerators, washers, dryers, and ranges. We also move heavy fitness equipment including treadmills, ellipticals, racks, and weight stacks.
Our team manages tight turns, stairways, and narrow hallways by carefully measuring clearances, disassembling components when needed, and removing doors or railings where appropriate. We protect surfaces with floor runners, ram board, and door-jamb guards, and coordinate elevators and loading zones to keep building rules satisfied.
A clear, careful, step-by-step approach
We start with a quick consultation to understand what’s moving, access points, stairs, and parking. Photos or a virtual walkthrough help us confirm dimensions and any special requirements. We provide guidance on how to prepare, including clearing paths and securing personal items.
On arrival, we install floor protection, pad-wrap furniture, and secure drawers and doors. We choose the right equipment lifting straps, shoulder systems, sliders, 4-wheel dollies, appliance dollies, and stair climbers then rig and move each piece with controlled communication. In the truck, items are stacked and tied off with e-track and heavy-duty ratchet straps for safe transit.
At delivery, we place items exactly where you want them, reassemble components, level and stabilize as needed, and add felt pads to protect floors. We conduct a final walkthrough to verify everything is correct. Our team is trained, insured, and can provide a certificate of insurance upon request.

Lindsay HuffMarlin and Davon were kind, respectful, thorough, and all around helpful! They are the best examples of great customer service and after moving an extremely heavy item for us, they both gave my two year old high fives on their way out. These two young men are great examples of my favorite quote. “It costs nothing to be kind” Thank you so much HMH! We will be telling our family and friends!Posted on Google
Deanna CantrellI used Hermitt's Thursday for moving and Friday for assembly of my furniture. Adrien and Dorian were the best. They were so friendly, professional, and swift with a little comedy mixed in. They wasted no time, and the price was right for my budget. I would highly recommend Hermitt's. They are now "my boys".Posted on Google

Rick EakerWant to thank Devon Wallace and Adrain Casillas for their work loading items into my attic space. They were friendly, polite, efficient and organized with their time. Then an added plus the items were placed neatly into the area. I will call for them to return when needed.Posted on Google
